Our Proof of Concept: Meet Sarah and Maureen

During our recent visit to Uganda, Kaitlyn, Ritah and I caught up with two of our favorite former Global Leaders students, Sarah and Maureen. It had been a while since I saw them last, and to he honest, I hardly recognized them! They have grown into the most beautiful and confident young women I’ve ever met.

Did you know that girls in rural Uganda face enormous challenges to achieving a secondary and university level education? In fact, only 22% of girls in Uganda complete secondary school, and only 1% go on to university. But at Far Away Friends, you’re helping us change that.

That's why it's so inspiring to see Sarah and Maureen thriving in high school — they are proof that our programs are helping to level the playing field for students from rural villages to succeed. These girls are truly our proof of concept, and we couldn't be more proud of them!
