Empowering Students to Create Real-World Change
Through our Schools for Schools program, American students work alongside students at a “Sister School” rural Uganda to advance access to education and create lasting change.
Start a club, or simply launch a fundraiser for your Sister School and help Ignite Skills for Life courses, fund classroom makeovers, and more. You’ll learn about sustainable, ethical development from local leaders, engage with students around the world and become a global citizen scripting real-world change.
Learn about Global Citizenship
Your club will be paired with a Ugandan Sister School who you'll partner with to fuel projects that improve access to education in rural villages. Your club will be part of a network of schools across the USA creating real, lasting change.
Make a true impact in Uganda
Together we'll cover a range of topics to develop ourselves as better global citizens, covering topics from the global education crisis, to combatting white saviorism, to the importance of local leadership.
Create lasting friendships
When you join a FAF Club, you'll create lifelong friendships - not only with your peers, but with students, teachers and local leaders across the world who are part of the Far Away Friends community!
Why start a Club?
Gain experience with a global nonprofit
Start a Schools for Schools club to show your commitment to global citizenship and social responsibility, making a real-world impact in under-resourced communities.
Develop your leadership and activism skills
Running a club demonstrates your leadership and organizational skills, setting you apart on college and master's program applications.
Create real-world change before graduation
Join the program and make a tangible difference in the lives of others before graduation, showing your initiative to effect positive change.

FOR TEACHERS
About the program:
Bringing Far Away Friends to your school can provide a wealth of benefits for both students and teachers. FAF offers an opportunity for students to expand their worldview, connect with other people and get involved in projects that make a real impact on the lives of students in other communities. Our programs provide a variety of learning opportunities across different disciplines, such as leadership, international studies, public speaking, history, and social entrepreneurship. For teachers, FAF provides opportunities to engage your students emotionally through storytelling and hands-on experiences, enhance your existing curriculum, and make a real impact in students' lives. We also offer potential for teacher exchanges and other forms of collaboration between schools in the USA and Uganda!
